  • Mistake 1: Writing On Multiple Topics: You Can’t Become Authority
  • Mistake 2: Not Using Content Calendar: You Won’t Be Accountable
  • Mistake 3: Writing Without Keyword Research: Whole Effort Goes to Vain
  • Mistake 4: Trying to Post Every day: You Lose Focus on Promotion
  • Mistake 5: No course correction: Never Makes you A pro-Blogger

Mistake 1: Writing On Multiple Topics: You Can’t Become Authority

Basically blogging means writing on a topic that you are interested in or you are aware of so that you can share your thoughts or feelings.

What is wrong with this?

Basically, I don’t see anything wrong about it.

I am interested in Programming also.

I am a hardcore SEO practitioner

I know SEO

I am interested in celebrity gossip too

I am interested to talk about the relationship.

So If I have that many interests is there anything wrong in writing content about these multiple things? like: One day about one topic the other day about another topic of my interest.

Well, there is nothing wrong with writing about what you like: but when you really want to succeed in your blogging career this is the number one mistake that everyone makes so don’t do this blunder again.

The pitfall with this approach of blogging is that it’s so tough to compete in every niche, authority is the thing these days, and building up authority is only possible when you write only about one thing on your website rather than writing about random topics.

Let me give you one example:

You are facing teeth pain and a friend of you suggests one method, and there is a dentist who is specialized in dental health.

Probably you will trust more on the dentist’s word than a close friend of yours.

That’s what happens with the website also when you write only on one topic you become the authority you become a specialist and your website starts ranking better.

And with this approach, you get success a lot easier way.

Mistake 2: Not Using Content Calendar: You Won’t Be Accountable

So basically what is a content calendar?

A content calendar is a way managing on which day what work should be carried out, either it’s a blog post or it’s social media post. managing a calender makes you very accountable.

When you have a habit of maintaining a content calendar, then you will have proper discipline about what to do on which day and what not to do on which day.

This is what a content calendar looks like:

Let me make you this simpler: It’s like a to-do list where you keep your worklist.

If today it’s Sunday then it’s all about managing that day what work you gonna do today?

write a blog post or make a video?

or post on your Linkedin profile?

what you plan to do you will put it on a content calendar already and so you will steak to it and that makes you consistent and achievable. Also analyze the content of competitors and top players in highly competitive niches such as ethereum casinos.

Mistake 3: Writing Without Keyword Research: Whole Effort Goes to Vain

This is the mistake I used to do a lot and many of us do this.

So before understanding this point let’s learn first what is keyword research?

Basically, keyword research is the way of finding the term/phrase people are searching on so that when we write content on the same topic we get more traffic.

This is the mistake I used to do a lot of the time, I used to feel so lazy to do keyword research and just start writing without doing research.

This made my days tough to get the desired result I wanted.

And when they do the keyword research the mistake they make is, they do it most of the time the wrong way.

Though this article is not about how to do the keyword research I will give you the basic idea.

Step 1: Get a topic you wanna write about on your head ( it’s called seed keyword)

Step 2: Put it on any keyword research tool, one of my favorites is Ahrefs( paid one by the way )

Now find a body tail keyword

Step 3: now from body tail keyword find the long tail keyword.

Then write about that topic using that keyword.

E.g.

Step 1 example: camera ( vlogging camera; seed keyword )

Step 2 example: Youtube vlogging camera ( body keyword )

Step 3 example: Waterproof vlogging camera for YouTube ( Longtail )

Now you go to write about the keyword or a topic you get in step three.this is the right way of doing the keyword research.

Now you need to write a blog post on the keyword you get on the third step( this will probably be a less competitive keyword you get. )

Though I don’t say finding long-tail keyword is all less competitive there are a lot more things to analyze. I will recommend you to read a few keyword research guide

Mistake 4: Trying to Post Every day: You Lose Focus on Promotion

Yes, One mistake everyone does when they are starting out is trying to post the new content every single day. Try to fill their content calendar and feel great. and get the feeling of “ woo hoo I published it again “

i did it emotional feeling

That’s great to think but try limiting yourself on content creation little and focus simultaneously on content promotion.

Content Promotion Image

Actually, the rule is you got to promote your content more than you create your content.

Mistake 5: No course correction: Never Makes you A pro-Blogger

Yes, we make mistakes and we got to focus on reducing the same mistake again and again.

Once you publish your content you got to think for a while :

  1. what are the mistakes you did in your content creation,
  2. what mistake was there in research time
  3. what mistake in writing time.
  4. what mistake in structuring time.
  5. What mistake in Website SEO audit

Every time take care of these mistakes and try overcoming it. Otherwise, just keep going and writing more number of blog posts is not going to make you a good blogger.

“Every time You Publish your Blog post, take a certain time to correct yourself on how you can improve what you have done and apply that in next post”

Conclusion: These are the mistakes that are holding you back to become a successful blogger. I hope, You knew what not to do in blogging and avoid these Errors.
